LAGOS State Government and its partnership with the West African Vocational Educational (WAVE) Academy to train 250 unemployed youths will reduce unemployment,
Wealth Creation and Employment Commissioner Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke has said.
She spoke at a zoom training session organised by her ministry and the academy for unemployed youths.
Arobieke said the partnership would empower and enhance the employability skills of the beneficiaries in the areas of teamwork, time management and good communication skills.
These skills, according to her, are indispensable in securing lucrative employment opportunities at the formal and informal sectors. Arobieke said the training would increase the chances of the participants getting employed.
She said the ministry was established to address unemployment through wealth creation, adding that since its creation, it has been performing its responsibilities.
The commissioner thanked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support through creation of job opportunities and an enabling environment for capacity building.
