“Set Back, But Not Backward” When Kwara State First Lady, DCNS Omolewa Ahmed Hosted Children With Special Abilities
Various days have been set aside in many part of the world to Celebrate children’s day. In Nigeria, over the years we have come to honour our children on the 27th of MAY. It’s a day we show them love and remind ourselves how special they are to us.
As part of the events to mark this year’s children day’s, Nigerian Women Diary was on ground at the Kwara state Banquet Hall Ilorin, where the First Lady of the state, Her Excellency, DCNS Omolewa Ahmed, hosted children with abilities in a special event themed: “Set Back, But Not Backward”.
The event which was in collaboration between the office of the First lady of Kwara State and Leah Foundation (An NGO for women living with Breast & Cervical Cancer) saw the Children who were in attendance demonstrated to the cheerful audience how much they have learnt and perfected different acts and exhibited such talents that made the First lady to promise to keep in touch with them.
Also present at the event is the Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs & Social deveploment, Hajia Asiat Ayinke Saka. it was a successful event filled with so much love, energy & inspiration that did connect the children with everyone present.
